The Power of the Voyeur is all based on the idea of the gaze and the voyeuristic nature of our interactions in society. As we interact with others, whether walking past them in the street, talking in a bar or buying something in a shop we are aware of how others look at us, where we are looking and the understanding of various looks, glances, stares and eye contact in social life. This knowledge of the gaze is used to a great extent through images, film and tv, where people are looking and how confrontational it is gives a great change to the mood and understanding of an image.

The Power of the Voyeur is taking a look at the percieved barrier of the TV screen, the safety and availability of examining others without fear of conflict or danger of being found by those looked at. Through using day to day events and environments this series is designed to draw attention to your looking in everyday life and the conflict that can arise through the supposed safety of the TV screen.

The effect is lessened due to the size of the images here, the intended size is life-size projection.
